Just rented the movie Shellfish by @hunter.hopewell and got to see the scene that uses our song I of the Storm! It’s a really fun and creative movie about friendship, ego, art, and it wraps itself up in a true coming of age tale. Anyone that has dabbled in film, music, and creative things in general are going to immediately comprehend this film on a truly personal level. It also has very cool bits of claymation that keep the movie feeling lighthearted and emotive in a way that never leaves the realm of raw, yet endearingly goofy. Def recommend, and can’t help but feel proud to hear our song add something to an emotional section of the movie. The other day someone was telling me that they had ended up really loving a song of ours from our EP You Left Me All Alone (An Elegy), and my first reaction was gratitude followed by confusion because it’s been out for awhile.. that’s just an artist point of view, when I think about how much I think I keep up with my fav bands vs how much I actually do, I totally get it.. so I thought I’d just leave all our albums and EP covers out here.. we don’t have anything new and finished for everybody yet, but we do have some singles and EP’s that may have flown under the radar.. If any of these look unfamiliar, feel free to give them a listen! You know we would appreciate it.. 👍🙏 And I guess keep your ears to the ground.. we still have some unreleased content along with some newer stuff we’ve been working.. Nicotine Queen finally broke 30,000 plays. I know it’s not much in the grand scope of how many plays some artists achieve, but it feels good to see it. I’ve known people over the years who’ve “broke through” and had their analytics jump because they kept grinding, and I’ve known people who’ve just factored in buying plays into a strategic way to reach more people.. Personally, I don’t feel as strongly about those strategies as I may have in the past. Sadly, art is a commercial game, and there’s no use being upset at the strategies of others (especially if they work). I am proud to say that these plays aren’t just numbers to me though. Over the years we’ve had a ton of support, and I know that each one of those plays has most likely come from somebody who we have had direct contact with at some point.. It represents time in Adam’s garage recording that song, touring around the country and meeting new people in every nook and cranny there was, and each play just represents real and authentic support.. we appreciate it so much. I know we are taking a bit of a break, and we know we have been purposefully pretty vague about what that means.. that support through it all helps us so much.. we haven’t “taken off” or “broke through” really, but at least I can say that I know who our fan base is.. thank you 🖤

Hey y’all, There’s been a lot going on for your favorite former hunks. I imagine many have noticed our recent inactivity which started around the beginning of the new year, and I’d love to say that it’s our typical slacker antics, but this time it’s something a little different with a list of uncertainties.. Our lives have changed enough through the course of our duration that we’ve finally come to a place where we have to decide what our future as a unit is, and that’s never been quite as uncertain as it is now.. That being said, we don’t want to fully “break up”. We are still writing and recording music with a backlog of material to release.. We are, however, going to refrain from booking shows and tours until we have a more clear idea of what our plan is going to be moving forward.. We have been inactive for the last couple months, but after waiting and waiting we’ve decided to officially announce a hiatus. Thank you everybody for the support over the years. It’s tough to officially have to come to a point where we have to define “taking a break” and what that means to us. Expect songs, music videos, and eventually this album that has been contemplated for years now.. Hey everybody, The first picture here is one of a dear friend of ours that had passed earlier this year. His name is Blair, and we met him as a bartender at Bunkhouse, though we ended up loving his band Rusty Maples. In Fact, it was another very talented music mentor of ours that had technically introduced us. Upon moving to Las Vegas a friend of mine had told me to reach out to him. “He’s a good dude,” he began “and his band is great.. the band name kinda sucks, but the band itself is really good dude.. he’s the kind of person that’s good to know. ” At that moment, a 22 year old moving to Las Vegas from Yakima, I had no idea that I would eventually grow to have an actual friendship with this person. We had met and hit it off pretty well. I think the first leap of faith Blair took with us was lending us his van for a cross country tour we went on 😂🤦♀️.. Our friend John (Deaf), who was also a very close friend and partner to Blair pleaded with him, and Blair surprisingly lent the group of 23 year olds his van to drive cross country.. Blair had always made a point help us and advise us the best he could, and we really appreciated it over the years. He helped us get studio time at Sonic Ranch, started writing some songs with us, and we even demoed them in his study?.. music room?.. my friend Navid was right..he’s a great human being, and it was a pleasure to have such great memories with him.. we are celebrating his life next weekend, and anybody that wants to come should def come out.. gonna also share a song of ours he was producing that he really believed in called “Hope There’s Heaven”.. I also included a photo of him head banging at a show of ours.. I just really liked how supportive that guy was of us, and I’ll never forget it.. more info to come

So, been seeing a lot of AI “art” stuff around, and have been seeing both sides of the topic. Since we have two people in our band that perform visual art to varying degrees, we thought we would simply let you all decide.. the first is a picture is a picture of Dalton, Garrett, and Eli in San Francisco.. as you swipe right you will see an artificial reimagining of this picture prompted with phrases ranging from “young cowboys studying the sprawling frontier” to “three young handsome professional wrestlers leading a cat army”… Fun stuff.. Also, just a quick disclaimer.. artists, after playing around with this program, I don’t think AI is coming for your jobs.. it’s obviously still a hodgepodge of already existing work, and the only original aspect of AI art is prob the ability to put a huge disfigured cat arm growing out of your gut. Not to make an artistic statement, but because it doesn’t understand that cat arms don’t usually protrude out of a human stomach. That being said, I do think it’s up to people who appreciate original art to defend it anyway we can.. Unfortunately, AI art is so new that it’s hard to quite say what that would be, buttttttttt if there’s going to be a betrayal of art and culture it’s probably going to happen by the hand of unshackled capitalism and that is where we should be looking for this new method to be misused.. I know it seems like a random tangent, but I thought I would at least address this new medium in its complexity rather than fully embrace or reject it with the seemingly limited information that the typical “tech normie” like myself would have.. -Eli Let us know what you think in the comments! 👍

We’ve been going thru some changes recently, and since we like to maintain a close relationship with our friends/ fans, we decided to illustrate these changes with an extremely accurate comic. The first thing you might notice will be the illustrations and how accurate they are. I said it once, and I’ll say it again… this little comic is about as close as you can get to being a fly on the wall… our wall… the walls that rest in close proximity to us on the day to day.. Naturally when @existential_burdens_and_fun sent this to me I was deeply disturbed at the accuracy. It’s almost as If the account was run by someone in the band.. or maybe… more likely, had access to top secret security tapes.??? Today marks 5 years since we released Sad Daze in Happy Valley, funded and brought to you by nobody other than our broke ass selves.. we did enjoy a little (a lotta) help from Adam Grill (Hidden Levels/ Twin Brother) while recording in his garage tho.. Here’s all confirmed Indigo Kidd occurrences and sightings as predetermined. As elusive and secretive as the group can be, at times, they made the grave mistake of planning out the locations and times for all of their shows! This will allow avid enthusiasts of the band to witness the natural beauty of these fashionable and solitary creatures first hand. Imagine what science can accomplish if we all clear our schedules to come observe these simpletons in their natural habitat!! So let’s do it. Let’s gather and finally unlock the mystery of these mysterious rituals performed by this musical troupe. Make sure to bring recording devices, possibly more witnesses, and perhaps currency that can be traded with these primitive men for their wares. (It’s often just self indulgent and simple clothing, jewelry, cds, ornaments, and things of that sort.. but it would be useful for studying them.) . 1: They will be performing in Boulder City in support of @jha4bc with some old friends. It will be going late, but a fun time. 2: The group has arranged a song in response to the Halloween season called Bloodlust. There’s Rumors that it’s going to be included in an indie vampire movie called Suck. It’s best that we listen to the song and figure out if it means anything or exposes anything new about the band. If anyone discovers anything please share to #indigokidd or #indigokiddextendeduniverse so that we can read about your findings. Perhaps tag the band page. 3: It seems after the single release they are engaging in a seasonal migratory pattern westward toward Hollywood. Experts are claiming it’s for some kind of special Halloween ritual or something.. best to be there to witness it! Please, go and take video and report your findings. 4: Another gathering held at an older nesting site for the group. Why the return? Must be some special occasion. Please report any correlation that is found! 5: Pineapple Fest, a festival being assembled by a different primitive group that Indigo Kidd has allied themselves with Secos, is happening last.. experts are actually divided if this is supposed to be a fertility festival or some kind of big battle? “Some of us are born just far enough outside of Seattle that nobody gives a shit..” . . I have written variations of this in countless notebooks, and phone notes apps over the years. I feel like I’ve had somewhat of a complex, being born in Eastern Washington and wanting to play music. It feels like you are perpetually an outsider. Never the rightful heir of anything, and wholly unworthy of anything outside of.. crops?.. drugs?.. church?.. Perhaps it’s a blessing to be born on the outside.. to have a huge part of myself that can never be removed from where I was born and how I was raised.. in fact, does indie music need anymore Manhattan-born, and financially well off dudes who happen to be dating famous tumblr models… errrr…emmmm… tiktok stars? Lol . When I think very deeply, I can tend to be totally immersed in my insecurities, but I suppose perspective does wonders. And years of being the person I’ve grown to become has made me very grateful for my friends, family, upbringing, and general experience.. I’m writing a lot these days, and without the perspective I’ve acquired I guess I probably wouldn’t have as much to say.. at least that I felt so passionate about. . . To all my fly-over country born people.. hang in there! Saturday, March 26, 2022 Indigo Kidd billed on a @dirtyrockroll show as the surprise headliner.. I fall into a puddle of my own spilt beer, and before struggling back up to my feet I ask myself if there’s anything I would’ve done different. My mind remains blank, in the face of this feeling of euphoria and purpose. The energy radiating off of the performance is everything I’ve always wanted, but find myself chasing in the most clumsy way. In this moment, I feel like the person I long to be in every moment.. wearing my burdens as a nonchalant ornament that decorate my songs with authenticity. I no longer feel like a stranger to myself and others, but an old friend sharing some emotive gift through an electric ritual. Every time I live in this moment, it feels like something I had seen in a dream.. something deep, profound, and infinite. Oozing with passion, I will continue to clumsily chase it. Not because I think it will pay off, but because it’s the most fulfilled I’ve ever felt.. it makes every moment spent wastefully or in response to survival in this late stage oligarchy feel strange and disorienting. Understanding how a lot of this works, this is going to look strange or egocentric until someone else says it in a reputable publication.. or maybe until we open up for some popular band on tour.. or maybe until we play a big festival… or maybe till we get out of the US.. or maybe till we get a few hundred thousand more streams.. I imagine there will never be an end to the criteria of how to justify yourself as an artist who deserves to pursue art, but I think I’ve accepted that.. the only option is to continue with the kind of passion that makes you want to believe you aren’t the imposter that you fear becoming. . . Iffin’ we finally release that cover of What’s Up?! By Four Non Blondes, we will surely dedicate it to this fine couple (it was the first song we played as they walked in).. . . . Sometimes I wish we were luckier, but then I think how unfair it would be to consist of three cute as hell dudes who are sweet as candy, and “deep as the ocean” AND have the universe on our side . Well, I guess in true yeehaw fashion we are destined to ride the rougher road, leaving a trail of worthless scratchers in the highway dumpsters all along the way. To all the people who tune in, buy merch, and show up.. thank you! We are some p lucky dudes after all tbh to have actual fans who support us.. we may not have songs blowing past 100k on our streams, but we know deep down that the 22k we do have is by all you real ones.. that feels so good, and boy we hope that every time y’all listen you feel the love and appreciation we have for you.. keeps us going tbh 😪🥰 We are currently booking some tours for this summer, and recording some new material to share later this year. We are going to really try and “do it big” this year.. staying busy, getting on playlists, and going places we haven’t been yet. (Maybe even getting some actual vinyl 🤐) Anyway, it’s been a rough year for all of us, and we know that we aren’t alone in feeling like the pandemic robbed us of some perfectly good years, stunted whatever social skills we thought we had mastered, and possibly even took or almost took some of our friends and family. Dalton shifted his gaze from his phone to catch the pair silently staring at him. “So…?” Eli inquired, sharpie in hand. “You heard the man!” Dalton said gesturing toward Garrett “Buckle Up, Colors of the Wind, and the Nicotine Queen five times back to back.” The group shared a laugh. “You know what?” Eli began, obviously joking “you guys wanna just get some food and go home? I think we proved whatever we meant to prove by driving all this way..” “Thank God!” Gasped Garrett, not as obviously joking “You guys had me thinking we were gonna stay and play this whole show..” the pair turned toward Dalton who silently slid his phone toward Eli. “Anyway, there’s the set list” he said, holding a serious expression with a smirk underneath. “Could you just.. NOT make the picture so big on mine?.” I suppose if you were a fly on the wall, Indigo Kidd had the kind of relationship that left you wondering how they managed to get anything done, but they knew that. The pair stared blankly at the empty stage, feeling fresh after a longer than usual pee. “What do you think?” Muttered Eli under his breath, trying to get a look in Dalton’s head. “I’m not sure yet..” shrugged Dalton. The wheels were turning, but to what destination was still a mystery. He had an inventors mind. Always evaluating the gear, and deciding the best way to approach with his new in-ear set up. “Well..” hesitated Eli “if the in-ears are going to be too much trouble, we could always jus—“ “Don’t worry dude!” Dalton interrupted “this is going to be great.” Looking over with what appeared to be unwavering confidence. Eli meant well enough, but he was a performer at heart. He didn’t know much about or understand the new setup. Dalton on the other hand was an inventor, constantly working to make Indigo Kidd’s live show better every time. Whether it was in-ear monitors, homemade stage lights, or mid-show announcements he had a vision of what the perfect show could be like. Where everything was seen, heard, and experienced exactly as the Kidd’s intended. He wasn’t going to stop until he knew that feeling… . . . 📸: @vato_triste

Roy Orbison means different things to different people. Whether he’s the grandaddy of barnyard emo or simply the “guy who sings Pretty Woman” it would be safe to assume that in some way we’ve all been exposed to something he created. With songs like Crying, Only the Lonely, In Dreams, and many others you get the feeling that this man really made a career out of singing the most depressed songs of his day. Even in Oh, Pretty Woman he catches himself in the bridge of the song, achingly pleading “come with me baby, I’ll treat you right..” Anyway his material was sad, and to people like us, very inspiring. The lyrics of this song we are about to release have been written for awhile, and it depicts someone who has lost an old friend in a car crash. While recording we decided to call the song Roy Orbison because even for us, it was particularly sad and dealing with a very real situation rather than something existential like our latest songs have been. We found out upon naming it that Roy Orbison’s first wife actually did die tragically in a car crash. So on this cover we depict them together, placed over the unmarked grave that Roy rests in his eternal Hollywood tomb.. we originally wanted to name this “Roy Orbison.. an unmarked grave..” but we instead would just like to make it clear that this is an elegy dedicated to Roy. We are fortunate to have his work. We will be releasing the two song elegy this Friday, March 12th. Thank you.

I was looking back at stage photos from our first US tour in 2017 and thinking about how much our band has changed since then. We were wide eyed kids who had yet to release our first album and were doing everything by the seat of our pants. It was so fun, despite how awful it also was. Each one of us would probably tell you touring is our favorite part of being in a band. We’d also probably tell you it’s our least favorite thing to do. Taking this last year off from shows has been depressing, but I find solace knowing that we’ve used this time to make our first shows back the best they’ve ever been. We can’t wait to show you what’s new.

We are very grateful seeing a visual representation of our support from our fans, and it’s a really cool thing to observe. We remember playing shows where only our parents would come, and it’s amazing to be in a place where people have us on their playlists, buy merch from us, we get chances to play with some of our favorite bands, and y’all stream our new singles. It really is a great feeling, and we hope that very soon we will be able to perform these new songs and we won’t have to be extremely cautious of sweating and slobbering all over each other. These numbers are, in the end, just numbers. They represent something very cool and exciting tho, and we are very grateful for that. Thank you ❤️

Hey bebs, thanks for giving some love to our Halloween special! We made a lyrical translation for anyone who would like to sing the song a less “catchy” way. On that note, we are going to place the song in a box labeled “Spooky stuff” and store it under the bed until next October. Up next, mega Christmas! 🎄 Make it Spooky (alternate lyrics): Some more obvious methods of self reflection I find wasteful. And, contrary to what you might think, I don’t drink alcohol because I enjoy the flavor I do it because inebriation emulates a more innocent and unburdened feeling that I haven’t felt in a long time before I formed some of my more self destructive habits Spooky is a word people often use to describe things they don’t appreciate or things they find threatening And it’s often something someone would say about you if they didn’t approve of your lifestyle or found you off-putting So my friends and I are having a social gathering That everyone is welcome to attend But we are going embrace all the taboo things that people would label as spooky And without fearing how others might judge us we will remain at the gathering until we feel content If you still aren’t certain of the point that I’m trying to express Just know that when I act out in certain self destructive or socially taboo behaviors I don’t do it for merit or influence, but because I feel society already judges me enough and is perpetually contributing to my emotional trauma Because I feel that most people never understood my character and never made an honest attempt to. So my friends and I are having a social gathering That everyone is welcome to attend But we are going embrace all the taboo things that people would label as spooky And without fearing how others might judge us we will remain at this gathering until we feel content

New song dropping on the 25th! It’s one that we used to play live quite a bit, Called “The Rain is Ok... I Am Ok...” We included a new section of this song that we added while in the studio at @sonicranch and it goes “The Fire made me face it The flames were from within And the weather’s always changing ,but it never did me in And for a second I was praying That it would rain again ,but I just sat down in silence Tired of wasting wishes on it” Can’t wait to finally release it, understanding that this phrase sums up the themes we wanted to be expressed with this collection of songs.

We don’t usually get political, but here’s the deal: We’re about to be faced with two options and one is a man with 64 sexual harassment cases and a very openly racist history (through policy and just plain casual conversation on video.) Believe it or not, we’re referring to Bloomberg here. He has now spent over $400 million buying this election and we can’t sit silently by. Bernie Sanders is the only candidate who can excite enough voters to turn out this fall and better yet, he’s been consistent on his positions for over four decades. You may not agree with his policy, but you can’t deny his honesty and integrity are aberrant among politicians. If you don’t like the idea of our democracy being for sale, then we ask you take a closer look at Sanders. We’re happy to announce we will be playing a show tomorrow in support of him. If there was ever a time to become more politically active, this is probably it. We’re back home in lovely Las Vegas and we have good news and bad news. The good news is we have two great shows coming up. We’ll be playing with our friends in @wanderersband and @jackevanjohnson on the 10th and opening for @keuning of The Killers on the 15th! The bad news is these will be our last two shows for awhile. Last year we embarked on two national tours and it was a lot of fun, however we’re ready to venture beyond our last album and focus on what’s next. We have the worst luck with vans! We couldn’t make it to Las Cruces tonight, but we’re hoping we can still make it to El Paso on Monday. To do that, we need to come up with money fairly quickly.
